this is a alternative ending to ghost train, here's what happened

timothy never had his suicidal accident, instead, before he left the station, the old controller was confronted by the railway board and they fired him at the station cause of how he treated all the engines and their crew, much to timothy's joy, seeing the man that made his life a hellish nightmare being fired from his job, and the board turned to timothy telling him to go to the workshop to get some much needed rest and repairs on him while another engine came to pull the train

years later, sir topham hatt found timothy, who was working on a different railway at the time. he bought timothy and he came to sodor again, this time with a controller who treated his crews and engines fairly and kindly. he and lady hatt meet timothy telling the old engine they heard of his previous stay on sodor and how they felt pity for him. timothy didn't mind, he heard of sodor being run better since he left it years ago and he was more then happy to work on it again, especially hearing his brother, thomas, was on it. timothy told the hatt's that he'd been waiting to see his younger sibling since he heard about him being built. sir topham hatt knew this very well and sent timothy to the sheds so timothy could meet his sibling for the first time in a long time

when timothy meet thomas, the two tender engines had a moment of silence before they spoke with thomas in shock to see the prototype of his kind and timothy for seeing another of his kind still alive and in service. 

from then on, timothy worked mainly on the branchlines with his brother, percy, toby and the other branchline engines and sometimes worked on the mainline, mainly hauling goods trains. sometimes when thomas was out doing other work, timothy would pulled annie and clarabel, thomas didn't mind and neither did his coaches. 

at last, timothy was now starting to get the life he wanted, with the nightmares of his past gone forever
